Our Vineyard Series is a collection of limited-production wines that offer their own variations on the contemporary style of our Paraduxx red blends. While taking inspiration from the famed Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah blends of Southern Australia, this wine is also shaped by its Howell Mountain origins, where high elevations, a unique climate and volcanic soils yield epic wines. The result is a wine with the bold structure and blackberry notes of mountain Cabernet Sauvignon and the rich dark fruit and white pepper character of Syrah.

Blend Composition: 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Syrah
Winemaker Notes
Structured and expressive, this wine captures the power of Howell Mountain. Aromas of dark plum, blackberry and molasses intertwine with black olive, cracked pepper and warm baking spices. The palate opens with bold fruits and violets from the Cabernet Sauvignon, while Syrah adds depth with plush plum, black olive and stony minerality. Firm tannins and vibrant tension carry through a long, layered finish.
Production
The 2022 growing season began with some much-needed winter rain that provided moisture to the soils. A pleasant spring ushered an early budbreak, with some rapid cane development. In early May, there was an unusual cool spell which led to an extended bloom for our white varietals and early reds. Summer was very consistent and provided the prime growing conditions we so love here in Napa Valley, with harvest beginning on the 15th of August. This was followed by an intense heat spell at the beginning of September that resulted in great concentration of flavors. After the heat subsided, temperatures cooled, and harvest continued into early November, yielding grapes with rich, vibrant flavors and bright acidity.
