Our Vineyard Series is a collection of limited-production wines that offer their own variations on the contemporary style of our Paraduxx red blends. While taking inspiration from the famed Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah blends of Southern Australia, this wine is also shaped by its Howell Mountain origins, where high elevations, a unique climate and volcanic soils yield epic wines. The result is a wine with the bold structure and blackberry notes of mountain Cabernet Sauvignon and the rich dark fruit and white pepper character of Syrah.

Wine Profile

Production Notes
Composition: 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Syrah; Cooperage: 100% French oak - 60% new, 40% second vintage
Winemaker Notes
Bringing together great mountain-grown Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, this rich and alluring blend combines generous layers of ripe bramble and berry with appealing savory notes of smoked bacon. On the palate, dusty mountain tannins frame lush blackberry pie flavors, while providing lovely structure and length.
Production
2016 was an incredibly successful harvest for Paraduxx. Starting on August 15th with our Rector Creek Estate Viognier and ending on October 20th with perfectly ripened Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon, the season was seamless. Overall, we harvested 15 different grape varieties from 14 different Napa Valley appellations. The growing season was filled with warm sunny days, intermittent cool weeks, and no rain events to speak of—all of which were ideal for achieving perfect ripeness with good natural acidity. Overall, there is a lovely elegance to our 2016 wines, with soft, velvety tannins and ripe, impeccably balanced berry flavors.
